FIRECRACKER FLIGHT 5K & 10K

Join us on Saturday June 30th for the annual Firecracker Flight 5k and 10k at Waterfall Park in Independence. The Firecracker Flight is a 4th of July themed run that is perfect for the whole family. The fun includes a costume contest, free kids dash, great post race food, and plenty of fun activities and vendors! You are not going to want to miss this one. All Firecracker Flight 5k & 10k race participants will receive:

  • Chip-timed run on a Garmin-certified course with live results
  • Custom event shirt (must register by deadline date)
  • Custom 3″ finisher medal for all 5k and 10k participants
  • Awards for top 3 male and female finishers in each age group (every 5 years)
  • Free race pictures (with searchable bib)
  • Custom race bib
  • Special youth pricing for 12 and under

Friday, June 29th from 12 to 6 PM at the Running Well Store (map)

Packets can also be picked up on race morning from 6:45 to 7:30 AM.

Race Pricing & Registration:

Firecracker Flight 5k & 10k fees are the same

  • $29 through May 7
  • $32 through Jun 11
  • $35 through Jun 29
  • $40 at packet pickup and on race day
    *Virtual Race entries will have a $5 charge for shipping.

Youth (12 & Under) – if they want t-shirt, finisher medal, bib otherwise they can run in the kids dash for free!

  • $16 through Jun 29
  • $22 at packet pickup and on race day

Volunteers – can’t run or have someone coming to cheer you on, we are always looking for help! It’s rewarding and we will reward you with a free entry for helping out! Contact us for details.

*You must register by June 25th to be guaranteed a shirt, we cannot guarantee a shirt or size for registrations placed after this date.

*Paid registrations cannot be refunded or transferred, see our cancellation policy here. You are welcome to switch to a virtual race entry, up until race day, and still get your shirt, medal & bib but you must come pick them up at packet pickup or arrange a time to pick them up at our studio.

Race Day Activities Schedule:

We aim to provide a great race experience by keeping everything organized and on time. If any adjustments need to be made we will make announcements to keep you up-to-date. Thanks for your understanding and support.

  • 6:45-7:30 – Packet pickup & race day registration
  • 7:40 – DJ led, fun warm up
  • 7:45 – Costume contest
  • 7:50 – Kids dash
  • 8:00 5k and 10k race start

Immediately following your finish you will have live results, post-race snacks, and finisher medals waiting for you!

Race Awards:

Prizes for the Firecracker Flight will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in the 5k and 10k races. The age categories are: 10 & Under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+

*Awards not picked up on race day will be available at the Bodies Health & Fitness starting on Monday following the race. You can pick up during normal business hours: M-F 9-5pm, Sat 8-10am.  You have 2 weeks to pick up your awards.

Our mission at Bodies Race Company is to make a positive impact in our community. We do this by providing a healthy activity for the whole family and benefiting local charities. We want everyone to have a great time and invest in their health but we are also calling on our great community to help those in need. The Firecracker Flight aims to make a big contribution to Strongpoint Refuge.  Strongpoint Refuge is a Christ-centered ministry dedicated to serving our US military, first responders, Veterans & their families by leading them to the truths that can positively transform their lives.  Strongpoint Refuge relies entirely on the financial blessings of their supporters to provide participants the services they need with no strings attached.

The directors of Strongpoint Refuge, Jonathan and Mandi Windsor, have been married for over 7 years. Jonathan served in the Army for 7 years and deployed to Iraq for 3 combat tours, at 12 months apiece. Mandi assisted her husband the best she could after he returned home from war; but months later, Jonathan was re-diagnosed with PTSD. Together, God led them through a process of healing that battled against PTSD and eventually conquered it. They now have a strong desire to help those who struggle with PTSD, survivor’s guilt and depression due to combat and trauma-related work fields. They believe there is hope and peace to be found through the power of Jesus Christ.
